A snowy, showy June in Mammoth

Where else in the country can you get summer and winter activities within a mile of one another? Nowhere except good ol’ Mammoth Lakes, that’s where. The mountain reports that 63 ski trails are currently open, with a base of 65-220 inches. This deep snowpack is what will maintain the skiing/snowboarding through August!

Among this are great summer activities – fishing at Twin Lakes for Father’s Day, the Mammoth Motocross event, and (one of my personal favorites) the Village Summer Movie Series. From now through August, the Village will be screening popular movies every Thursday or Sunday. Bring a blanket or a chair, and enjoy the show! While you’re at it, you’ll also be able to catch the sunset.
