Forecasters are calling it the “Mammoth mega-storm”. Two feet of snow have fallen since Tuesday and snowfall will steadily continue through the next five days.

Since this morning, Mammoth Mountain has reported 3.5 feet to 7 feet of new snow from this storm. Another 3 to 7 feet is expected today. Mammoth Pass has a storm total of 7.84 inches. Just this afternoon, the town of Mammoth Lakes issued an advisory to all residents and visitors for the weekend, stating that a flood watch is in order for the area as heavy snow and rain drifts in.

Visitors can listen in on KMMT 106.5 and Sierra Wave 92.5 for any road closures, as well as visit our weather page for storm trackers, weather updates, and links to road closure information.

The LA Times is calling this “a historic string of winter storms”, but Mammoth is praying for more. As the town plows away, we ask that all guests coming up this weekend ensure that they bring chains and prepare accordingly. Into the storm we go!
